Infections & Allergy Treatment in Bengaluru

Something appeared, spread, and is not going away. Or it went away and came straight back the moment you stopped the cream.

Both are worth seeing properly. Neither needs to take months to sort out.

Infections, in all their forms

Fungal — ringworm, jock itch, athlete’s foot, nail fungus, and the pale or dark patches of tinea versicolor across the back and chest. The most common and most mistreated skin problem in this city. That combination cream from the chemist usually contains a steroid: it clears the itch, feeds the fungus, and turns a two-week problem into a two-year one.

Bacterial — boils, abscesses, folliculitis, impetigo, cellulitis, and the recurrent painful lumps that keep returning to the same place.

Viral — warts, molluscum, herpes, shingles, and viral rashes in children and adults.

Parasitic and mite — scabies, which spreads through a household before anyone realises and is very often mistaken for allergy for weeks; lice; demodex mites, a frequent hidden driver of stubborn facial redness and eyelid irritation; and insect and mite bite reactions.

Sexually transmitted infections — assessed, tested and treated with complete discretion.

Most of these resolve fully with the right diagnosis and an adequate course. The failures are almost always cases treated too briefly, or with the wrong thing.

When the skin reacts

Hives rise in minutes, itch furiously, and vanish within a day — then return somewhere else. When they keep coming back for weeks, there is usually a reason, and it is usually findable.

Contact allergy is quieter and more persistent: hair dye, cosmetics, nickel in jewellery, footwear, detergents, gloves, workplace exposures. Patch testing identifies the culprit, which is most of the treatment.

We also see drug reactions, sun sensitivity and allergic skin rashes of every kind.

Why some of these keep coming back

Recurrent infections and hives that will not settle are often saying something about what lies underneath — blood sugar, immunity, gut health, a deficiency, or hormones.

Recurrent fungal infection and stubborn boils in particular are worth investigating rather than simply treating again. One round of the right questions saves years of the same prescription.
