Long before she considered medicine as a career, Dr Rakshitha had already inherited one — a family legacy in health care that reached across continents.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar is a Harvard-trained physician and a radiation oncologist. He spent three decades across the United States building and running seven radiation centres, sitting with people on the hardest days of their lives. Ten years ago he decided he would rather help people never have those days at all, and moved his practice into longevity and integrative medicine.
Two physicians noticed the same absence from opposite sides of the world. Modern healthcare has become a factory. A different doctor each visit. No one who remembers your name, your history, or what was said the last time.

At twenty-eight, Dr Rakshitha Jayaprakash opens the doors to Legacy — a practice built on the discipline she fell in love with and has never left.
She is a dermatologist by training and by conviction. Skin is her subject: its biology, its behaviour, and the science of restoring it. Her work in aesthetic medicine was shaped by some of the finest practitioners in the field — not only in India, but across the world.
She is a published author. Her work appears as a chapter in a medical textbook on regenerative medicine — a distinction that places her among the clinicians shaping how the field is taught rather than merely practising it.
She trained for a decade under her uncle, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, in longevity and integrative medicine. She did not leave dermatology for it. She built around it.
She lives in Defence Colony — the neighbourhood Legacy serves.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar is a Harvard-trained physician and a radiation oncologist.
Across three decades in the United States he built and ran seven radiation centres, treating patients through the most serious illness a person can face. His practice drew people from cinema, sport and public life, though he has never traded on it.
Ten years ago he made a deliberate turn. Having spent a career at the end of the disease pathway, he moved his practice to the beginning of it — into longevity and integrative medicine, the science of keeping a body well rather than repairing it late.
Through Legacy he directs the longevity and integrative programme, consults with members by telemedicine, and visits Bengaluru for a clinical week each quarter.
He is also, and first, an uncle who taught his niece what medicine looks like when it is practised properly.
